Job Objectives
To maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, process day-to-day accounting transactions, ensure statutory compliance, and support the Finance Manager in preparing financial reports and statements to facilitate sound financial management of the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Record and maintain day-to-day accounting transactions including receipts, payments, journal entries, and ledger postings.
- Prepare and process invoices, bills, purchase vouchers, payment vouchers, and petty cash transactions.
- Perform bank reconciliation statements (BRS) and reconcile ledger balances on a regular basis.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain and update accounts payable and accounts receivable records accurately.
- Process salary disbursements, statutory deductions, and assist in payroll computation.
- Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS returns, and other statutory obligations.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of PF, ESI, and other compliance-related documents.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and clients for invoice verification, payment follow-ups, and reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and assist in asset tracking and depreciation calculation.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documents and reconciliations.
- Assist in budgeting, cost tracking, and variance analysis as directed by the Finance Manager.
- Maintain organized and systematic filing of all financial documents, vouchers, and records.
- Prepare MIS reports and financial summaries as required by the Finance Manager.
Essential Work Activities
- Record and process day-to-day accounting transactions and vouchers
- Perform bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and MIS reports
- Process payroll inputs, statutory deductions, and compliance filings
- Maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset registers
- Support audit processes and coordinate with vendors for reconciliations
Qualifications:
- B.Com / M.Com / BBA (Finance) or equivalent graduate qualification in commerce or accounting.
- CA Foundation / CA Inter or Tally/ERP certification is an added advantage.
Years of Experience
2 to 5 Years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance roles, preferably in construction or infrastructure companies
Person Requirements:
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally ERP / Tally Prime, SAP, or equivalent.
- Sound knowledge of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel for data entry and financial reporting.
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining clean financial records.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Honest, reliable, and able to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
- Good communication skills in Hindi and English; Malayalam preferred.
